G'day Shredders,

On Day 371 I put up a mini-contest video asking my fellow Shredders to guess the contents of the "mystery box" I received recently.

There were heaps of great guesses ranging from my recent NHK TV appearance (most popular guess), to a pony (thanks Christy), to Shredder Council merchandise (coming soon!), to Hi-Def DVD's of my my first year on the shred (great idea Raiden!).

Here is the "Mystery Box" video along with the winner revealed...

*Contained in this video is original footage from the TV Clip which is Copyright of NHK TV Japan.

To the winner (Joni), your prize (RTP Supplement Report) has already been delivered to you. Enjoy!

Time-Lapse: Opening The "Mystery Box"

2) Opening the box.

==================================================================

G'day Shredders,

Today is without a doubt the greatest day of my life.

I have reached a major milestone of my real-time physique transformation journey. One whole year of (almost) daily blogging and daily picture accountability in the bag!

Crazy, Intense, Bizzare

This has been the craziest, most intense, bizarre, uplifting and rewarding year of my 33 years on this planet. I'll never forget these 365 days for as long as I live...actually I can't forget because this blog will live as long as I do!

To tell you the truth I did have a vision in my mind for this year but the reality of what has manifested has far exceeded my wildest dreams.

My "Past Life"

I started this blog while coming off 6 years of failed attempts to get (back) into shape AND my first failed attempt at blogging daily a physique transformation, so I was not filled with confidence when I started this blog on November 8, 2006.

However, my self-confidence skyrocketed after just 14 days (Group Shredders!?) of this blog/transformation attempt and I knew in my heart of hearts that my vision was manifesting into reality in real-time!

The Four Components Of Rapid-Fire Physique Transformation

All I had to do was continue taking the single daily actions required to manifest my new physique...and life. I planned and executed with near precision every one of the 4 major components of a rapid-fire physique transformation:
  1. Mindset
  2. Training
  3. Cardio
  4. Nutrition
I Outed My "Secret Blog"

Once I had 42 days of this "secret blog" under my belt I decided to go public with my transformation at Burn The Fat Inner Circle in order to increase the "positive pressure" to succeed by implementing real-time accountability...every single day.

From there I never looked back! I closed in on my first goal (which was to eat a chocolate cake on my birthday while holding a six-pack) with a level of discipline and dedication I never knew I had.

Shredding Like A Madman!

Once I reached my first goal, Mission 1, I decided to then up the ante by devising Mission 2, which would culminate in a public vote on whether my midsection qualified as a six-pack on March 24, 2007.

To increase the "positive pressure" I decided to put my $1,500 pre-paid "redemption trip" to Phuket on the line. I shredded like a madman on the 46 day mission and ultimately won the vote 61% to 39%.

Redemption In Phuket!

I went to Phuket and finally chilled out for the first time in 5 months. I did all the activities I had wanted to do on my previous trips to Phuket but never could due to my shape. I also went back to the same locations and took "redemption pictures" which was a blast!

My Mid-Year Crisis

However, once I got back from Phuket my life was turned upside down by a confluence of events that had mostly arisen due to my single-minded focus on one area of my life. To cap it off I ended up straining my wrist in a boxing accident which put me out of action for 21 days.

I had focused so heavily on transforming my physique at the expense of just about every other area of my life. In short, my life was not in balance...and I paid the price.

After delaying Mission 3 twice already I decided to come face-to-face with my backwards progression on Day 200. I was absolutely mortified when I saw my pictures.

I Was Absolutely Mortified By What I Had Become...Again

I felt like crawling under a rock and wiping this blog off the Internet. Here I was, a guy meant to be living the fitness lifestyle in real-time who was not practicing what he preached. I was gutted with myself for not following through on my original Mission 3 plan.

After some long heart-to-heart conversations with my family I decided there was only one way to dig myself out of this hole...start Mission 3! I then went to work on pre-Mission 3 training and gradually started to regain my confidence again.

The Moment Of Truth

Then came the moment of truth...Day 230. This was by far the most gut-wrenching time period of the whole year. I wondered how people would react when they saw a guy who had let himself go...again.

I would really like to take my hat off to my regular visitors who totally supportive throughout the early stages of Mission 3. They could have quite easily wrote me off and moved on but they stood by me. Thanks guys, I appreciate you.

As I have said many times Mission 3 was the by far the most important because it meant I would have to get back on the horse and practice what I preach over a long period of time. In short I would have to "live the fitness lifestyle" full-time if I was to make another physique transformation.

Mission 3 Final Pictures

While I still haven't completely nailed my goal of a shredded sixer I am extremely happy with my progress over Mission 3 given the circumstances. I feel that I have laid the groundwork for another full-blooded physique transformation for Mission 4.

So, without further adieu here are my Mission 3 final pics, Day 365 pics for November 8, 2007 (RTP Group Shred - Day 14 0f 14).

Day 295: Mission 3 - Phase 2 Starts Now!

G'day,

No more excuses! It's time to get my game face on and go massive for the next 70 days of Phase 2 of Mission 3.

There is a great deal at stake as I head into the 1-year anniversary since I started this real-time physique transformation accountability project back on November 8, 2006.

You may say, "What's at stake Adam? You are not holding a public vote like you did for Mission 2?"

What is at stake is far more important than any of the goals I set for myself in the previous two missions.

Here are a just a few things that are at stake for M3 Phase 2:

  • Personal pride
  • Consistency
  • Practicing what I preach
  • My credibility
  • My self-confidence
  • My self-esteem
  • Fulfilling my self-promises
  • Living my dreams
If you think I'm being melodramatic just take a look at my Day 136 pics to see how much ground I still have make up.

However, as you may realize its not all about the body! The body is merely a physical representation of your daily thoughts and actions.

This is more about manifesting my dreams into reality...in real-time in front of a few thousand visitors!

Anyway, in the coming days I'll get more specific about the exact "muscle gain" program I am following and the necessary dietary adjustments I have made in order to pack on muscle.

Until tomorrow...

Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!

Peace,
Adam Waters, NESTA-CPT

P.S. Happy birthday Mum! I hope you had an awesome day!

P.S.S. I had an awesome weight training workout beating my previous personal best for barbell bench press and pull-ups.

P.S.S.S. Below are Day 295 pics for August 30, 2007 - Mission 3 Phase 2, Day 1 of 70. Check below the pics for newspaper proof - the Osaka World Athletics Championships are on the front page!

Day 230: Mission 3 Starts Now!

G'day,

Oooh man...I'm gonna have to hire a graphic designer one of these days! I am so tired, not from today's workout but from designing these Mission 3 graphics. I trust that these graphics explain the basic concept and goals behind Mission 3.

Anyway, I really have to get some sleep now so I'll go into much greater detail behind my thinking process for Mission 3 tomorrow...and why I have set yet another six-pack goal!

In the meantime if you would like some perspective on what has happened since the end of Mission 2 just check yesterday's post below.

I have some big ideas on how to implement my "real-time accountability" concept throughout Mission 3, stay tuned for details on how you may be able to benefit from my experience.

Before I sign off I'll leave you with my official M3 starting pictures along with the mandatory Japan Times newspaper.

Until tomorrow...

Eat Clean,
Shred Hard,
Think BIG!

Peace,
AJ

Day 136: Mission 2 - The Verdict

G'day,

What a night! By the time I finally got to sleep I was woken up by an earthquake (literally).

Thank you to everyone who voted and for the kind words of support I received on my blog and in the Inner Circle forums.

The verdict is YES I will be going to Phuket. Below is a screenshot of the survey results at 9PM US Central Time.

This was definitely the weirdest experience of my life and I'll have a lot to write about in the future, but right now I gotta go and pack.

Peace,
AJ

Day 136: Voting Is Open Now!

G'day,

Well, it all comes down to this!

For the next 12 hours between 9 AM and 9 PM (US Central Time) you can decide if my midsection qualifies as a six-pack or not.

On the line is my $1500 pre-booked holiday to Phuket. If the Yes votes are greater than the No votes I will be on my way to Phuket on March 26, 2007. If the No votes are greater I will be back at my Osaka gym on March 26, 2007.

As you can see I'm waiting for your vote!

Please vote only once so the votes are not skewed. I will not vote so the results will be totally independent.

The vote box is in the right-hand navigation bar.

Peace,
AJ

Day 136 Video: Is This A Six-Pack?

G'day,

This is a video I made today (March 24, 2007) just to amuse myself!

Day 136: M2 Judgement Day Final Pictures

G'day,

Well here are my final M2 pictures.

During the last 4 days I did everything I could to try and reveal a six-pack.

I ran 40 km's at 16 km/h intervals, did 40 laps of the pool, did 4 hours of Tae-Bo & ab training and 4 hours of high intensity cycling.

Needless to say I am completely hammered!

Before I show them I just want to say a big thank you to a few people.

First of all, my family. I love you guys, you are the driving force behind everything I am trying to accomplish.

I also want to thank Tom Venuto, Nick Nilsson and David Grisaffi for their awesome information and inspiration. I have used their books and resources exclusively for the last 136 days. Thanks guys.

I also would like to thank all the members of Burn The Fat Inner Circle for their kind words and encouragement, and my Myspace, FaceBook and BodySpace friends.

And last but definitely not least I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and make comments. You'll never know how much I appreciate you for doing that.

Well, here are the pics.

Cheers,
Adam Waters

Day 91: M2 Day 1 - Let's Get It On!

Day 91
M2: Mission 2, Day 1
Status: Round 1, Phase 1, Day 1
Goal: 5% Bodyfat with increase in muscularity
Vision: Kickin' it in Phuket with a totally shredded six-pack. Check it to your left!
Time: 46 Days: Feb/7/07 to Mar/24/07
Tools: BFFM; Metabolic Surge; Best Ab Exercises

G'day,

Just imagine...a totally shredded rock-hard six-pack while chillin' on the beach in Phuket with a cocktail (non-alocoholic) in one hand and iPod in the other.

This is the vision that will carry me through the next 46 days of gut-wrenching cardio, hardcore weight-training and diet discipline.

For the time being my initial visualization picture remains as I have yet to reach that level of muscularity. You can see it above.

I gotta go now.

Here are my M2 Day 1 pics for February 7, 2007.

Peace, AJ
